This race was special for a couple of reasons. First, it was the last one I would run in as a Charleston resident. Second, it was the first race Maurice Davis participated in since his stroke in December. He did the 1-mile Fun Run.

Another year, another Flowertown race. This one was pretty similar to the last one. The location was the same, the course was the same, and the crowd was light and easy to navigate through.

This article is a bit photo-heavy, but it’s light on the chatter. I thought it would be fun to actually take my camera with me during a race. I have a project coming up in my Digital Photography class which requires a visual narrative, so I submitted the idea of documenting a race or two. (It’s not as if I’m really going out of my way.)
